SUBJECT: First Annual EDF Disaster Relief Fund Silent Auction
Floods – Tornados – Hurricanes – Ice. When Mother Nature does her worst, what can you do? For the past few years, in the equipment industry, dealership employees have turned to the EDF Disaster Relief Fund.
The SouthWestern Association, NAEDA and its 17 other affiliated dealer associations created the EDF Disaster Relief Fund to provide grants to dealers and their employees who suffer losses from weather-related or natural disasters. Since the fund was established in 2005, dealership employees in seven states – many of them in our area – have received EDF grants.
We are writing to request your assistance with the very first SouthWestern Association Silent Auction to benefit the EDF Disaster Relief Fund. Auction items will be posted online, with culmination of the event at the SWA Convention dinner on Thursday, February 18, 2010 in Kansas City.
Thanks to the support of sponsors and donors in the past, and the efforts of numerous dedicated individuals, participating associations have raised thousands of dollars toward this worthwhile purpose.
We are seeking donations of items to be auctioned to benefit the EDF Disaster Relief Fund. Such items as golf packages, hotel packages, sporting event tickets, equipment toys, electronics and other tangible goods would be welcomed. (Tickets would be for events that occur after February 2010.)
